McLean’s Sugar Bush Tours

Spring is quickly approaching and this means that it’s time to get out of the house and come visit
the sugar bush once again! It’s time to shake off the winter blahs and get excited about another
‘sweet’ maple season at McLean’s Sugar Bush!
Tours are available during the week for groups with a minimum number of 20, with tours for
groups from pre-school, school aged children, all the way to seniors. McLean Berry Farm is now
booking tours on weekdays from March 15 th - April 9th. Tours are approximately two hours in
length, and take place either in the mornings, or the afternoons.
Tours are fun for everyone of all ages, and it’s a great way for everyone to learn something new
and exciting. Aiming to give you the full experience, the McLean family takes you along on a
guided tour of the sugar bush to show you how trees are tapped, where the sweet sap is collected
and how it’s boiled down to make delicious golden syrup on our wood-fired evaporator.
Tours also include hayrides, pioneer displays filled with hands on activities for everyone to try, a
visit with farm animals, the straw pile to play in and of course - trying out maple toffee on snow!
Nothing beats that sweet taste!
There is also an option of hot dogs around the campfire or waffles with syrup at the farm market
when booked ahead.
Groups of 20 or more can reserve a time by calling 705-657-2134 or email
smclean@mcleanberryfarm.com . Cost is $4.00 per person, with an additional cost if lunch is to
be included.
Again for this year: McLean’s Sugar Bush will be open to the public in March Break
Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th from 10 until 4. We will have all of the usual activities and
more as well as serving food at our Farm Market.
Follow the signs to McLean Berry Farm, located 4 Km south of Buckhorn or 20 minutes
north of Peterborough Zoo. Turn East off County Road 23 onto the 16th Line of Smith (Curve
Lake Road intersection) and travel 1 km. Our sign and entrance are on the right hand side.
