The 15 Eastern Ontario Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) are sponsoring an Eastern Ontario Pavilion at the upcoming Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto from November 6-15 and Kawartha Choice FarmFresh products will be among the features of the display.

The Kawartha Choice FarmFresh booth will feature a theme of “your table is waiting” and the pantry shelves and tables will be stocked with products produced locally from Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough farms. “The Kawartha Choice FarmFresh display will showcase the best of our agri-food and agri-tourism industry while working within the larger Eastern Ontario region,” commented Kelly Maloney, Agriculture Development Officer.

“The cooperation between producers in the Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough region will help highlight the availability of fresh local products from our farms,” says Karen Jopling, Agriculture Development Officer for GPAEDC.

The Eastern Ontario at the Royal initiative is funded through the Eastern Ontario Development Program in partnership with FedDev Southern Ontario/Industry Canada. Community Futures Development Corporations support economic development by assisting Ontario’s rural and northern communities to strengthen and diversify their economies. By partnering with community organizations, FedDev is opening doors and building futures for a prosperous rural Ontario. The Kawartha Choice FarmFresh display is coordinated by the Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation, the City of Kawartha Lakes and the Community Futures Development Corporation’s from Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes.
